Health insurance can be a confusing subject to navigate on your own, especially when it comes to figuring out which providers accept your plan, as well as in-network versus out-of-network. At Lincoln Urgent Care, we make every effort to ensure that navigating your insurance coverage with us is as simple as possible, and that the complex nature of health insurance doesn’t get in the way of you receiving the care you need. With that in mind, we’ve rounded up a list of the top insurers we accept at our clinics, along with a few new additions that we hope will make our services that much more accessible and affordable for everyone.

What Insurance Plans Do We Accept?

At Lincoln Urgent Care, we’re proud to accept nearly all commercial insurance plans, with few exceptions. Some of the major insurers we accept include United Healthcare, BlueCross BlueShield, Aetna, Cigna, and Medicare, but we encourage you to check out the full list. If you are concerned about your coverage, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

How to Check Your Coverage

Checking your coverage is easy! Most insurance providers now offer online portals where you can use their search features to check if our clinics are covered. Alternatively, most insurers offer member services via telephone. Check the back of your insurance card for your insurer’s phone number. Our administrative staff is also well-informed on insurers we accept, and can often clarify whether we accept your plan.

In-Network vs. Out-of-Network Insurance Plans

We understand that whether your provider is in-network or out-of-network can sometimes be confusing. An in-network healthcare provider is a provider that your insurer has contracted with to provide you—the insured—with healthcare services. This means that your insurer has negotiated preferred rates with your provider, which often means you will pay less with in-network providers, lowering your medical costs.

Out-of-network providers are those that haven’t contracted with your insurer and do not have guaranteed rates. This doesn’t mean that the provider won’t accept your insurance; many healthcare providers accept out-of-network patients. However, it does mean that your care may be more costly, and that you may need to get approval from your insurer if you want your visit to be covered. Be aware that in a health emergency, it is illegal for your insurer to charge you more for a hospital that is out-of-network. You should never hesitate to go to your nearest hospital in emergency situations.

Can I Visit Lincoln Urgent Care If I’m Out-of-Network?

In the unlikely event that we don’t accept your insurer in-network, we are still able to bill most out-of-network commercial insurance plans, and we’re happy to provide guidance and helpful information to you at any time during your visit. You may also call our clinics during business hours for additional assistance.

Veterans’ Affairs Coverage

Lincoln Urgent Care is excited to share that we now provide comprehensive, compassionate care to our veterans through the VA, with no co-pay required even after the third visit. We provide services our veterans need the most, including medication refills, medical second opinions, and referrals for specialty care such as chronic pain management and mental health services. As with all our patients, we’re also pleased to offer veterans access to our emergency and acute illness care, along with routine medical services like vaccinations.

New! Proudly Accepting Partnership Medi-Cal

Granite Bay Urgent Care is proud to be the first independent urgent care clinic in California to accept Partnership Medi-Cal, a non-profit, community-based healthcare organization that helps low-income adults and children access high-quality care that meets their needs. Our new partnership with Medi-Cal reflects our ongoing commitment to ensure that everyone, regardless of income, receives the professional, compassionate care they deserve. Please note that at this time, only our Granite Bay location is able to accept Partnership Medi-Cal.

Are you a low-income resident of California in need of health insurance? We recommend visiting the California Department of Health Care Services website to see if you qualify. Partnership Medi-Cal can also help you locate additional, in-network healthcare services near you to meet your needs.

Cash Pay Options

If you are uninsured, or if you aren’t covered due to the limitations of your insurance plan, we want you to know that you’re not out of options. We offer affordable cash pay options that provide considerable cost savings compared to an ER visit. We also offer significant cash discounts to those who are uninsured. We’re always willing to work with you to ensure that you receive the care you need, so please don’t hesitate to ask our friendly staff for assistance.

Lincoln Urgent Care is Committed to Healthcare for All

At our clinics, we believe that everyone deserves access to affordable, high-quality medical care—a principle that’s guided us from the beginning. We don’t think healthcare should break the bank, or that our patients should worry about how they’ll afford our services, especially in urgent or emergency situations. For that reason, we strive to work with all major insurers and accept most commercial insurance plans, even those that are out-of-network. Our new partnerships with the VA and with Partnership Medi-Cal reflect our mission to serve our community, including those most vulnerable or at-risk. If you are in need of healthcare, or if you’re concerned about your coverage with our clinics, please call us directly or walk into one of our clinics today to receive the care you deserve!
